Normal pressure on other zones makes a house-wide supply problem unlikely. Start at the affected zone's heads and valve, then look for wet soil or a design overload before adjusting the home's pressure regulator.
Match the pattern before opening anything

Compare the pattern
If one head is weak, inspect that head. If every head is weak, look upstream at the zone valve, pipe, or total flow demand.

Clean one representative head
Turn the zone off, remove the nozzle and screen, rinse both, then test again. Do not enlarge a nozzle opening with wire; that changes its flow pattern.

Look for escaped water
Run the zone for only a few minutes and walk from the valve box toward the weakest heads. Bubbling soil, a soft strip, or one intensely green patch can mark a cracked fitting or pipe.

Check zone demand
Add the rated GPM of all nozzles on the zone and compare it with measured supply flow. If heads were added, changing the pressure setting will not fix an overloaded zone.
- Wet soil suggests an underground leak near utilities or a foundation.
- The valve does not open fully after cleaning or adjustment.
- The zone must be split or redesigned to reduce flow demand.
